Ethan Henshaw ’22 – An Impressive Fenwick Young Alum

06/01/26

A frequent graduation gift is Dr. Seuss’ classic, Oh, the Places You’ll Go. Ethan Henshaw ’22 has certainly personified this in his four short years since graduating from Bishop Fenwick. Ethan is now a graduate of Georgetown University. At Georgetown, Ethan was an incredibly engaged student, where he chaired the College Democrats, served as President of the Student Government, and led a DC-wide campaign for admissions reform that passed two bills in the D.C State Board of Education.

During his four years at Georgetown, Ethan secured and experienced many high-level political internships, including those with the Office of Massachusetts Governor, Maura Healey; the Office of Massachusetts Congressman, Seth Moulton; the Office of Salem Mayor, Dominck Pangallo; and the Office of Rhode Island Congressman, Gabe Amo.

As Ethan thought about his next steps after Georgetown, he decided to look at Law School. To ready himself for the Law School admission process, he spent many months preparing for the mandatory LSAT Exam. After taking the exam on his first try this past fall, Ethan earned a perfect score of 180! It is incredibly rare to score a perfect 180, as only .1% of all test-takers achieve this feat!.

Ethan graduated from Georgetown this Spring, with a BA in Government and a Minor in Theology and Economics. We are proud to say Ethan will be attending Harvard Law School this fall! With a strong passion for affordable housing in our country, Ethan’s focus at Harvard Law will be Housing Law.

When asked how he selected Fenwick, Ethan told us the strong interaction he saw between teachers and students at the Admission Open House clinched it for him. “I immediately knew I made the right choice once I started at Fenwick. The school cares about the success of their students, coaches care about their athletes, and the faculty always makes time to help in whatever way you need,” Ethan said.

We asked Ethan to share a favorite Fenwick memory, and he told us, “I loved being on the track and cross-country teams. Soon after I joined the teams, Covid hit and everything stopped. Then things started back up in my junior year and in the next two years we had great success as a team. I was a mid-distance runner and qualified for the States in the 400, 800, and Mile, and qualified for nationals in the SMR relay.”

Ethan spent some time telling us about the benefits of his Fenwick education. “I felt so incredibly prepared for college. While at Fenwick I was able to take 9 AP classes, which was a huge help in college. I learned great study habits at Fenwick. And I developed very strong writing skills at the school. With this great foundation, I felt very prepared for my college, career, and beyond,” said Ethan.

As we closed our interview, Ethan offered these words of advice to today’s Fenwick students, “It is always good to keep the word WHY in the back of your mind, as it will help keep you motivated, on track, and towards a future plan. And be sure to enjoy your time at Fenwick, and to stay connected with your high school friends post Fenwick.”

Thank you, Ethan, for sharing your story with us. You exemplify what the next Fenwick generation is all about. While we know you won’t need it, we wish you good luck at Harvard!
