John “JT” Taylor ’90 – A True Sportsman
12/11/25
John Taylor ‘90, known to his friends and colleagues as JT, was an avid sports fan and accomplished athlete at Fenwick, loving his time on the Crusader Hockey Team. Little did JT know he would turn his sports passion into a very successful career. After graduating from Northeastern University in 1996, JT spent a few years in technology recruitment. In 2004, he transitioned into sports media at WBZ Newsradio, and then in 2009, he moved on to 98.5 The Sports Hub. After a long tenure at The Sports Hub, JT was named in 2024 the Senior Vice President of Sports/Celebrity Partnerships at Athlete-Driven Worldwide, a national creative sports marketing firm that works with elite athletes such as Jayson Tatum, David Ortiz, Keegan Bradley, Charlie McAvoy, Trevon Diggs, Kevin Durant, George Kittle, Paul Pierce, and many others. JT helps provide major corporations/organizations with campaigns that feature high-profile athletes to drive maximum brand lift.
When asked why he attended Fenwick, JT told us he wanted to be part of a community that felt like family, and a place where strong academics, faith, and character were just as important as sports and extracurriculars. According to JT, “From the moment I stepped on campus, I felt a sense of purpose and belonging that made the decision easy for me to attend Fenwick.” When asked for a favorite Fenwick memory, JT told us that playing on the Fenwick Hockey Team was a time he’d never forget. “I made so many great friends and played on some really great teams. It created so many special bonds and friendships that still exist today,” said JT.
“Some of my longest friendships started back at Fenwick,” reflected JT. “It’s amazing how much we have grown, but that shared Fenwick experience still connects us all today. No matter where life takes us, Fenwick is always a thread that ties us all together. I can always pick up the phone, call a Fenwick friend, and pick right up where we last left off!”
When asked what skills he learned while at Fenwick, JT told us, “Fenwick taught me the importance of community, integrity, hard work, and treating people with respect. I learned how to lead, to be a good teammate, to collaborate, and to carry myself with purpose – all things that serve me well every day in both business and life.” And when asked to share a few words of advice for today’s students at Fenwick, JT said, “Try new things, explore meeting new people or joining new clubs, because that is where your growth happens. Treat everyone with respect. Smile at a stranger, say hello to people, and be social, it will all help you go a long way in life. Fenwick isn’t just preparing you for college, it’s shaping you into the type of person you will become in life.”
