Special Course Offerings
Fenwick offers various special courses that go beyond our standard department curricula, some of which are required and others of which are presented as electives.
Required
- Health and Wellness: A half-credit course in health and wellness is required of both freshmen and sophomores, providing an opportunity for physical exercise in team sports and activities as well as training for CPR and good decision-making with regard to one’s body.
- College and Career Seminar: A half-credit college and career seminar is required of all juniors, providing an opportunity beyond individual counseling to meet routinely with their school and college counselor in a classroom setting to explore future plans.
Elective
- Crusader Peer Leadership is a half-credit program for seniors, equipping them to be role models so that they can mentor freshmen on academic concerns, relationships, peer pressure, conflict resolution, growth in virtue, and deepening friendship with God.
- Introduction to Entrepreneurship and Leadership is a full-credit co-curricular offering that augments our DECA [https://www.deca.org/] Students will develop real-world professional skills in competence, innovation, integrity, and teamwork.
- Virtual High School (VHS) has partnered with Fenwick for more than 20 years to expand and enrich our elective course offerings to independently motivated juniors and seniors. VHS Learning offers half- and full-credit courses in an array of different subjects. See their course catalogue here [https://www.vhslearning.org/].
